Celebrate Make Music Day with a full day of free live performances at the San Antonio Botanical Garden on Saturday, June 21.
Wander 39 acres of vibrant plant life while soaking in sounds from mariachis, brass bands, indie artists+ more. This all-ages event, presented with Alamo City Arts + COSA Arts and Culture, brings the city’s creativity to life — one song, one bloom, one joyful moment at a time.
Comfort Cafe is closing its Los Patios location Fourth of July weekend, but there’s something sweet in the works. The nonprofit will open a combination coffee and gift shop in the same complex as its Bandera eatery. An opening date for Sweet Serenity hasn’t been set. (San Antonio Business Journal)
Development
A four-story development will break ground in downtown New Braunfels next year. The Neue, at 699 W. San Antonio St. and South Guenther Avenue, carries a $20 million price tag and will offer 46 condos, 5,000+ sqft of retail and office space, as well as resident amenities by spring 2027. $6 million. That’s how much San Antonio philanthropist and UTSA supporter Harvey E. Najim is investing in the school’s student success and career readiness programs. The gift will support the Center for Innovation and Career Advancement and the College of Business over the next decade.

San Antonio’s chains are growing. “Dirty soda” shop Swig will begin constructing another location this September at 3627 E. Evans Rd., with a January 2026 opening. Plus, a $2 million Panda Express is in the works at the Highway 281 and Bulverde Road intersection. It’s set to open in August 2026. (San Antonio Express-News + MySA)

Speaking of chains, the San Antonio area will get its first Bad Ass Coffee this fall at upcoming retail complex Boerne Town Center. The Hawaiian company known for its 100% Kona Coffees will add to the Alamo City’s coffee scene. (MySA)
