June is chock-full of must-do events in San Antonio, but registered voters should make sure to schedule time to vote in the Runoff Election. This race will determine the mayor and fill seats in City Council Districts 1, 6, 8, and 9.
Early voting remains open today + tomorrow, and Election Day is Saturday, June 7 from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Here are some tips to help you get ready to vote:

Familiarize yourself with the sample ballot before showing up to the polls.
After you vote, check the Bexar County Elections Department homepage for results.

“Emotions at Play with Pixar’s Inside Out” has officially opened at The DoSeum — and it’s the first-ever interactive exhibit based on the beloved Disney and Pixar film.
From joy to sadness, anger to disgust and fear, families can explore the science of emotions through hands-on activities that are as fun as they are meaningful. Think memory games, imaginative play, and heartwarming moments for all ages.
Meat San Antonio’s newest restaurant. Brazilian steakhouse Fogo de Chão has opened a new location in the North Side, its second spot in the city. The restaurant is known for its all-you-can-eat offerings + open grill where you can watch food be prepared.(San Antonio Current)

Artificial intelligence is hitting the road. California ride-share company Waymo will be testing self-driving cars in San Antonio this summer, mostly in the Loop 410 area — but AI won’t be chauffeuring you yet. During this trial phase, the vehicles will be accompanied by trained humans. (KENS5)

This summer, the Briscoe Western Art Museum will explore a part of Western American history that crossed the Pacific Ocean. The “Aloha Vaqueros” exhibition will be on display from Friday, June 13 through Monday, Sept. 1, giving a glimpse into Mexican vaqueros and their connections to Hawaii’s paniolo cowboys.
History
The US Treasury Department has placed its last order for penny blanks and announced plans to stop making the one-cent coin. Production is expected to end in early 2026 for the coin first minted in 1793, which is old, but not quite as old as San Antonio. (Newsweek)
