🧊 What’s cooler than being cool?

San Antonio Skyline Frost Bank Tower
With about 14% of the city’s population being over 65, it’s important to have easier access to resources that keep them and their homes crisp + chilly. | Photo by the City of San Antonio
It’s starting to heat up, and every San Antonian knows that the summer months are dreaded here — but the record-breaking high temperatures from June through August don’t stop us. However, there’s one population of folks who may have a harder time keeping cool: our senior citizens.

Let us introduce you to Project Cool.

Helping hands

Project Cool allows San Antonio residents over the age of 60 who need cooling relief to request a 20-inch box fan at no cost.

If you are interested in helping our local seniors keep cool during the warmer months, purchase a fan and donate it at these two sites:
Pro tip: Box fans are available online ranging from $30 to $40.
