Nature parks
Elmendorf Lake Park, 3700 W. Commerce St. Located near OLLU, cross the bridge over the lake and take in the natural scenery as well as walking on its trails.
Woodlawn Lake Park, 1103 Cincinnati Ave. This park offers fishing opportunities, trails, picnic areas, swimming pool, softball field and a playscape.
Sports parks
Berkley V. and Vincent M. Dawson Park, 202 Lamar St. The newest skate park to rip onto the scene, it offers downtown views, two skate parks, a covered pavilion, and a community garden.
Freewheel Bike Park, 5102 Pearsall Rd. This fitness park includes a few different trails like the pump track + dirt bike trail for those looking for more of a natural adventure.

Developer Phoenix Property Co. is set to break ground on new luxury apartments in La Cantera. The $57 million project includes an additional 342 units.
