    🥶 Keeping seniors cool

Help local seniors with Project Cool

Every San Antonian knows that the summer months are dreaded here, but the record-breaking high temperatures from June through August don’t stop us. However, there’s one population of folks who may have a harder time keeping cool — our senior citizens.

Let us introduce you to Project Cool.

    What’s cooler than being cool?

A caring community of course. Since 1997, the City of San Antonio has collaborated with several organizations like United Way of San Antonio & Bexar County and other local leaders to keep Project Cool in operation.

The initiative allows San Antonio residents over the age of 60 who are in need of cooling relief to request a 20-inch box fan at no cost.

To request a fan is simple: Dial the United Way Helpline at 2-1-1.
