CineFestival is back in San Antonio

Get ready to see 75 screenings from local filmmakers and artists at the Guadalupe Cultural Arts Center’s CineFestival in July. | Photo by the Guadalupe Cultural Arts Center
Every year, the Alamo City hosts the longest-running Latino film festival in the nation. The 45th annual edition of CineFestival returns, but this time with two screening locations — the Little Carver Civic Center at the Carver Community Cultural Center and Alamo Drafthouse Cinema Park North.

CineFestival fast facts

The festival runs Thursday, July 11 through Sunday, July 14, and aims to recognize, celebrate, and support Latin + Indigenous filmmakers across Texas. Presented by the Guadalupe Cultural Arts Center, the festival will feature 75 films spanning across genres including:

  • Coming of Age

  • Arrosta at Pearl closed on June 29 after two years of service. The Italian restaurant served handmade pasta and a daily three-course menu option. Its seafood-focused counterpart, Allora, remains open for lunch and dinner. (SA Express-News)

  • San Antonio Parks and Recreation is offering free swim classes this summer. Let’s Swim SA 2024 is open to residents three months and older — and yes, adult classes are available. Space is limited so sign up today.

  • McCombs Enterprises is planning a new development in southwest San Antonio. The company applied for a new subdivision project called Redwest Commercial.
