Did you catch the 2024 NBA Draft? What a whirlwind.

Although all the hype is usually associated with the top 10 picks, the Spurs had four picks this year: Two first round (No. 4 and No. 8) and two second round picks (No. 35 and No. 48).

Draft day can be quite chaotic, so we’re breaking down both rounds.

What is the NBA Draft?

After the NBA Finals in June, all 30 teams come together at a predetermined location — this year was at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, NY — to draft players who are eligible and want to join the league.

For the first time ever, the NBA Draft was split between two days — Wednesday, June 26 + Thursday, June 27.

Who did we pick?

Stephon Castle
Castle was pick No. 4 during the first round of the draft. This 6'6", 19 year-old guard is coming off a National Championship season with the University of Connecticut. Castle will wear No. 5 for the Silver and Black.

Rob Dillingham
The 6'1" freshmen guard from Kentucky landed at the No. 8 spot. Dillingham was traded to the Minnesota Timberwolves in exchange for swapping first-round picks in the 2030 NBA Draft and a 2031 first-round pick — what a deal.

Juan Núñez
The Spurs acquired the draft rights to this player from the Indiana Pacers during round two. However, the trade is not finalized.

Harrison Ingram
Dallas native (hey there DALtoday) and 6' 5" forward from North Carolina was the No. 48 pick. During his time as a Tar Heel, he helped the team earn a number one seed in the NCAA Tournament. The rookie will wear No. 55 this season.

Next year, the Spurs potentially have seven picks in the 2025 draft as the result of trades during the previous seasons and during the draft.
