    SATX: dog adoption

Did you adopt a pandemic puppy? You’re not alone. A survey from ASPCA showed that approximately 23 million American households adopted a pet since the beginning of the COVID-19 crisis.

Since today is National Adopt a Shelter Pet Day, we rounded up a list of nine local animal shelters, rescues, and foundations in case you’re still looking for a furry new bestie.

San Antonio Humane Society, 4804 Fredericksburg Rd.

Celebrating over 70 years of operation, this organization is a no kill shelter that strives to protect and improve the lives of dogs and cats in San Antonio and surrounding areas.

    Paws Ranch Rescue & Animal Sanctuary, 865 S. Loop 1604 E.

This 501(c)(3) organization rescues, rehabilitates, re-homes, and provides sanctuary to as many pets as possible since 2010.

With Fiesta 2024 in the rear view mirror, there are so many things happening this summer. I think I want to take advantage of some of the free music and movie series around the 210. It’s a great way to explore the city on a budget — the only downside is the Texas heat that’s waiting for us this summer. Brace yourselves.
