How to register to vote in San Antonio

Did you miss National Voter Registration Day in September? Yeah...we did too. Don’t worry, you still have time to register. According to the most recent US census data, as many as one in four Americans may still not be registered to vote.

Let’s help fix that.

✅ Double-check your registration status

You only need to update your voter registration status when you move (otherwise your ballot gets sent to the wrong place), but it’s best to double-check to make sure everything’s correct ahead of time.

Find your registration status on the Bexar County Elections website and see what items will be on your next ballot. It only takes a few seconds to fill out.

✍️ Register, if you need to

Not registered? Don’t sweat it. You can:
  • Register online through the Texas Secretary of State’s website to print, sign, and mail your application
  • Call the Voter Registration office at 210-335-VOTE (8683) and request an application
  • You can also find voter registration applications at local libraries, government offices, or high schools
You can learn more about registration and voting in San Antonio by visiting the Bexar County Elections Department website.

🔎 Watch for these upcoming dates

  • Monday, Feb. 5 — Last day to register to vote online or by mail.
  • Friday, Feb. 23 — Last day for the Elections Department to receive your mail ballot application.
  • Tuesday, Feb. 20 to Friday, March 1 — Early voting period.
  • Tuesday, March 5 — Election Day — it’s the big day. Make sure your ballots are postmarked or turned into a ballot drop-off box before 7 p.m.

Not only is it Groundhog’s Day, but today is also my birthday. Happy birthday to me! My mom always tells me I was born on a rainy Tuesday in .... I’ll keep my age a secret, for now. Ironically, it’s going to be raining tonight just like the day I was born. I’m hoping it doesn’t ruin my birthday plans, but we really do need the rain.
