Happy New Year, San Antonians. To start the year off on the right foot, we need a little help from you.
Every morning, more than 55,000 of you welcome us into your inbox. And each day, we do our very best to provide you with timely, relevant information so you can get the most out of the city we call home.
We’re asking you to take two minutes to tell us a little more about yourself because the more we know about who you are, the better we can deliver information that you care about. Just two minutes. Feel free to skip any questions you don’t want to answer. We don’t want to pry. (Okay, we do, but for a good reason.)
Mini conchas from Caballero Bakery | SATXtoday Team
Picture this: Sunday rolls around, birds are chirping, sun is streaking through the blinds, the barbacoa is fresh, the guacamole is on the table, your glass is filled with Big Red. Missing something? Of course — pan dulce.
You can’t have the San Antonio Sunday breakfast without sweet bread, so we’re here to help with a roundup of six local panaderías.
My family has been coming to this spot since I was a child and it fills me with nostalgia and sweets. From conchas (the yellow sugar one is the best and I will die on that hill) to tortugas and pink cakes, this is your one-stop shop for all things sweet bread. The bakery also makes tortillas in house.
Serving up iconic staples like the pink cookie and chocolate cakes as well as banana nut bread cuernitos. Pro tip: The mini conchas are perfect for any special occasion.
This delicious place offers ojo de buey’s, orejas, as well as sheet cakes, cookies, muffins, and conchas. They also serve tamales and barbacoa on the weekends.
Happy 2024. My resolution: Share artwork with my community. If you’re looking to turn your hobby into shared passion, why not check out local social groups to join in San Antonio?
