The New Braunfels Half Marathon, happening Saturday, Nov. 11, is set on a beautiful scenic course along country roads, making it one of the fastest and flattest races in the region. Runners of all skill levels are invited to participate and will receive a t-shirt + medal at the finish line. All courses will begin and finish at New Braunfels’ Stars and Stripes Drive-In Theatre.
Registration starts at $105. Pro tip: Register before Friday, Nov. 10 to avoid the late registration price bump.
TxDOT announced nightly lane closures on Loop 1604 near the Interstate 10 interchange in Northwest San Antonio from Thursday, Nov. 2, at 9 p.m. until Friday, Nov. 3, at 5 a.m. The closure includes eastbound lanes (Vance Jackson Road to Lockhill Selma Road) and westbound lanes (Lockhill Selma Road to Interstate 10).

The San Antonio Zoo received a $1 million gift from the Greg Kowalski Family. The donation will go towards the zoo’s current development and expansion plans, including a section of the new event center (Greg Kowalski Family Courtyard) opening in Spring 2025.

Grab your ice skates. The city’s only outdoor ice skating rink, Rotary Ice Rink, returns Friday, Nov. 17, through Monday, Jan. 15, at Travis Park. Tickets range from $7 to $15 and skates can be rented for an additional fee. Pro tip: Join Cheap Skate Nights on Tuesdays for $7.
