South Texas might not be the paragon of autumnal foliage, but that doesn’t mean you can’t find some unbe-leaf-able views in and around our beautiful Alamo City.
Here are a few of our favorite fall spots to visit around the 210 that are sure to make it to the ‘gram.
Pack a picnic and head over to Gilbert Denman Estate Park near the Medical Center. Just under 10 miles from downtown, you can also find a monument hand-built in Gwangju, Korea — one of San Antonio’s sister cities — by Korean craftsmen and artists who traveled to San Antonio to assemble it.
Only an hour outside of the city limits (about 88 miles Northwest of San Antonio), there’s more at Enchanted Rock than just the dome. Hike, backpack, camp, rock climb, geocache, or even stargaze while surrounded by gorgeous autumnal scenes.
There’s something so enchanting about astrophotography in Texas during the fall season.
During the fall, you can expect plenty of visitors looking to take in the natural beauty. Overnight campers can stay in screened shelters, cabins, or campsites, about 93 miles west of San Antonio.
Pro tip: Don’t forget to reserve your stay (or visit) prior to arriving. While the name “park” may be misleading, you’ll want to be sure that you’ve secured a day pass before heading out.
