Looking for a cry? We’re here to pat you on the back and let you know that it’s okay to let it out. | Photo by the City of San Antonio
City Editors Nicholas and Adriana here — look, we all know some days are tougher than others. Allowing yourself to have a good, hard sob in the proper setting can often be cathartic and can help work through whatever is bothering you in a healthy way.
To that end, here are four places around the 210 where we like to have a good cry. Let’s set the mood, Alexa, play “Hurt” by Johnny Cash.
Listen, the construction isn’t going to be finished any time soon — it’s been going on for 63 years — and if you’re heading west towards Bandera, that sudden three-lane merge into two causes a clog. It’s just the best vibe to dramatically sob whilst listening to “Mad Woman” by Taylor Swift.
Picture this: You’re sitting under the black and white striped umbrella, pondering why you let a summer fling happen. Maybe your mascara is runny but that’s okay, because an Oreo Croissant never broke anyone’s heart.
Were you just stood up? Don’t fret, take in the city skyline and the San Antonio River at this rooftop bar. In the words of the all-wise Samantha Jones from “Sex and the City”, “If he seems too good to be true, he probably is.”
Ran into your high school ex while picking up some sugar? How about getting into the car and taking in that price tag on the receipt? Either reason would cause us to tuck under a blanket and cry... good thing you have one in your car for this moment.
Is there a specific spot you like to cry at around the Alamo City? Let us know.

Listen. I got beef with Ticketmaster. I was one of the lucky ones who waited nine hours in the virtual queue for pre-sale tickets to see Taylor Swift. Did I already see her in concert when she came to Houston? Yes. Will I do my best to get tickets to see the tour movie? Double yes.
May the odds be ever in your favor fellow Swifties.
