It’s NBA Draft Day in the Alamo City. Ever since winning the No.1 pick last month, Spurs fans have been anxiously awaiting this night — when the picks will be announced tonight at 7 p.m. time, in Brooklyn, NY.
The majority of us don’t have the pleasure of traveling to the Barclays Center to watch in person. However, in San Antonio fashion, there will be several watch parties happening across the city.

117. Earlier this week, a peak heat index of 117 degrees was recorded at San Antonio International Airport. This is the hottest heat index value on record dating back to the 1940s when the values were first recorded. The record has been broken three times over the past week. (KSAT 12)
On This Day
Speaking on the NBA Draft... On June 22, 1987 David Robinson was drafted by the Spurs as the overall No.1 pick. It wasn’t until 1989 that Robinson joined the team due to his military service. Robinson played the entirety of his career — 1989 to 2003 — with the Spurs.
Art
Local artists Maria and Manola Ramirez created a pop-up installation at the McDonald’s at 18146 Blanco Rd., as part of the annual Ritmo y Color showcase. The installation is inspired by Mexican culture and features Talavera pottery patterns. San Antonio is one of six cities to participate. (SA Current)

The San Antonio ISD Board of Trustees approved a resolution for a rightsizing study. The study will look at all of its schools including student enrollment, evaluating the curriculum, building usage, and the distribution of student resources. This may result in the restructuring and closing of schools in the district.
Sports
Position Sports and Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame announced the 2023 Hall of Fame Series San Antonio will take place at the AT&T Center on Saturday, December 16. Catch the doubleheader featuring women’s teams Baylor vs. Miami, FL., and men’s teams Tennessee vs. NC State. Tickets and schedule will be available soon.
