Our team was able to stop by Holiday in the Park, one of the largest holiday celebrations in the 210, to share what we saw, what we ate, and what you can’t miss at Six Flags.

🎇 Ring in the New Year

While the New Year is still just a few short weeks away, we recommend planning early for the park’s biggest celebration to date. Six Flags Fiesta Texas will wrap up its year-long 30th anniversary celebration with a pyrotechnic spectacular you don’t want to miss on Saturday, Dec. 31. The show will begin at 9 p.m.

  • After a few months of renovations, CommonWealth Coffeehouse is expected to take over the space operated by Rosella in January. The new spot is hoping to serve morning, noon, and evening crowds in the Museum Reach Neighborhood with offerings like live music and wine selections. ☕ (San Antonio Business Journal)
  • The UT Health Science Center at San Antonio will receive the addition of a 5.5-level parking garage adjacent to the Center for Brain Health. The $15 million project is expected to add 181,149 sqft of much-needed parking space for the area. Construction is anticipated to begin early next year. 🅿️

  • The City of San Antonio and Texas Pets Alive! are seeking permission to provide medical care for low-income residents’ pets. This legislative proposal is hoping to help decrease pet surrenders among the elderly, those who have low income, and residents who don’t have access to a car. 🏥 (San Antonio Report)

  • Lets go girls (er, everyone) — country music icon Shania Twain will kick off the second leg of her “Queen of Me” tour on Oct. 12, 2023 at the AT&T Center. Ticket sales for the general public go up on Friday, Dec. 16 at 10 a.m. 🎙️ (KSAT-12)
  • Now, get ready for Texafornication. American rock band Red Hot Chili Peppers are stopping by the 210 on their 2023 tour — along with special guests The Strokes and Thundercat — at the Alamodome. General sale will open Friday, Dec. 9. (KENS-5)

  • MiLB announced the winners of the 2022 Golden Bobblehead Awards for top promotional activities and events in six categories. The SA Missions were awarded the Golden Bobblehead for “Best Community Event” from the Uvalde Community Healing Night, which was attended by nearly 2,000 more fans than average.
