Are you a lover of the supernatural, the creepy, or the outright frightful? We sure are.

That’s why we’re recapping what we saw, what we ate, and what’s new at one of the largest October celebrations in the Alamo City this spooky season, Frightfest.

New to Frightfest

  • House of Curiosities (kid-friendly) | Think: a haunted house without the scares.
  • Looney Tunes Halloween Dance Party (kid-friendly) | Oogie-boogie with these beloved characters at this dance party.
  • Curse of the Zombie Prom (kid-friendly) | Join a totally tubular zombie cast for a musical adventure set during prom night in the 80s.
  • Dr. Diabolical’s Monster Mash Bash | Rock out with Dr. Diabolical and her army of steampunk fiends on stage with a live rock band.
Don’t miss your chance to check out the park’s six haunted houses, including two new attractions, “Trapped” and “House of Houngan - Curse of the Rougarou,” as well as a thrilling homecoming to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the “RockKill High School” house.

Notable sips + eats

  • Blood Bag: a rum-based cocktail with cranberry juice.
  • Green Fairy: made with Midori, pineapple juice, Absolut Vodka, and blue Curaçao.
  • Syringe Jello Shot: an orange jello shot a day keeps the undead away.
In addition to the spooky offerings, the park is also welcoming back some fantastic Oktoberfest eats. From seasonal brews to Bavarian pretzel sticks, park visitors will have their pick from plenty of German-inspired food through Sun., Oct. 30.

All Frightfest activities will run through the end of October. New thrilling coasters, like Dr. Diabolical’s Cliffhanger, are included in regular park admission. A Haunted Attractions Pass is needed for access to premium haunted houses.

Pro tip: Make your park reservation online to avoid confusion at the gate, because there’s nothing more spine-chilling than losing precious park time.
