After 65 years of buisness, QuikTrip (QT) has opened their 1000th store in Converse, TX located at 933 S. Seguin Rd. To celebrate, QT pulled out the red and white flags for this momentous occasion. City Editors Adriana and Nicholas visited the location late last week to get some more inside details.

The Converse location features a QT Kitchen, offering fresh, made-to-order food, premium specialty drinks and frozen treats. Our City Editors were able to chat with Senior Corporate Chef, Nick Powell about the innovations that go in the test kitchen back at their Tulsa headquarters.

After 13 years with the company, Chef Powell is always looking for ways to improve the consumer experience and streamline employee workflow. He mentioned the QT Kitchen pizza ovens and how they are some of the fastest machines made to deliver hot + fresh pizzas to customers. Powell closed his conversation with us and recommends the sandwich subs as his go-to favorite.

For what we think will be the go-to drink of the summer—the dragon fruit mango QT infusion. This refreshing summer-time beverage is made with Red Bull, mango syrup, a squeeze of lime and topped with a cherry. There is a cherry limeade variant available as well.
