During the Black Business Week conference, local Black business owners can find conferences, panels, and workshops to help them expand their biz.

It’s time to celebrate your local businesses, San Antonio.

Thursday, Aug. 1 marks the first day of Black Business Week SA (BBWSA), a conference that uses classes, workshops, panels, and features to provide Black business owners a way to get some exposure, education, resources, and support for their biz.

The conference runs through Friday, August 9 at the Carver Community Cultural Center + The Aiden Hotel Riverwalk, and there are plenty of ways to get involved.

Events to check out

Ribbon Cutting Ceremony | Thursday, Aug. 1 | 6-10 p.m. | Jo Long Theater at Carver | $20-$60 | Kick off the week of events with an opening ceremony featuring the White House Initiative for Black Americans.

Casino Night | Saturday, Aug. 3 | 9 p.m.-1 a.m. | Aiden Hotel Riverwalk | Try your luck at various casino games, listen to live music, enjoy appetizers + a full bar.

Dine and Discuss | Monday, Aug. 5 | 7-9 p.m. | Various locations | $50 | Choose from one of five restaurants you would like to dine at for a meal, beverage, and dessert.

Business One on One Roadmaps | Wednesday, Aug. 7 | 9 a.m.-1 p.m. | Aiden Hotel Riverwalk | $50 | Block off an hour to receive face to face guidance about your business with an expert.

Money Solutions for your Business | Wednesday, Aug. 7 | 9 a.m.-2 p.m. | Carver Community Cultural Center |$50 | Learn about different money solutions — like grants, loans, and crypto — that can help grow your business.

BBWSA Workshops | Thursday, Aug. 8 | 8 a.m.-6 p.m. | Aiden Hotel Riverwalk | $0-$100 | Check out nine different workshops lead by field experts that range from how to build a website to floral design.
