Get ready for the biggest running fiesta to take over the Alamo City this weekend. The Humana Rock ‘n’ Roll ® Running Series will take place Sat., Dec. 4 and Sun., Dec. 5.

Whether you’re cheering for someone along the runner route or lacing up to cross the finish lineour City Editor Ivan is preparing to run the half marathon and we couldn’t be more excited — we’ve compiled a list of things you should know + a look at some of the amazing runners with San Antonio ties.
👟 Event Timeline

  • Kick off the fiesta running celebration on Fri., Dec. 3 with the Health & Fitness Expo at the Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center from 12-7 p.m.
  • The 5K and 10K will take place Sat., Dec 4 at 7:30 a.m. on Hoefgen Ave. and Heiman St.
  • The 26-mile full marathon + the 13-mile half marathon will take place on Sun., Dec. 5 at 7:15 a.m. on W. Market St. and S. Alamo St.

    👟 San Antonio Runner Spotlight

    • At 84 years old, Edward Dyllan will be the oldest runner at the half-marathon.
    • At age 7, Daniel Parker will be the youngest runner at the half-marathon.
    • After being paralyzed from the waist down, Matthew Garcia will run his first marathon after 14 years.

You can also expect performances at Civic Park at Hemisfair after the event from Volcán and The Emotions.
