Want to get outdoors this April? The San Antonio Parks and Recreation is celebrating Earth Day 2024 at Woodlawn Lake Park (1103 Cincinnati Ave.) on Saturday, April 20 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Fun fact: This is an official Fiesta event.

This Earth Day celebration gives the local community an opportunity to come together and celebrate nature, conservation, and sustainability — and yes it’s free. Here’s what you can expect at the event:

  • 70 community partners
  • Dance + musical performances
  • Tree and plant giveaways
  • Fishing
  • Fitness activities

So, what about the food options? During the event, visitors can choose from vegan and vegetarian menu options for purchase from some of your favorite local food vendors including: Elotitos Corn Bar, Go Vegan San Antonio, and Makan Halal Cuisine. Check out the full vendor list.

Since this is an environmentally-friendly event, here are four things to know before you go:

  • Carpool or use public transportation to further reduce your carbon footprint.
  • Bring a reusable water bottle to refill at water stations and fountains.
  • Help to reduce waste by bringing your own reusable bags, containers, cloth napkins and utensils.
  • Leashed dogs are welcomed but remember to bring a doggie bowl for water and waste bags.
