The most beautiful bathrooms in San Antonio, TX

From coffee shops to date-worthy restaurants, we love sharing our favorite places to eat + drink local in the Alamo City. But, let’s face it, there’s one facility in these establishments that often goes unappreciated despite its necessity in the modern world.

That’s right. We’re talking about the loo, the john, the porcelain throne — A.K.A. the humble toilet.

Today, we want to highlight some of the most beautiful bathrooms around town fit for the royal squat.

B.O.S.S. Bagel | 6458 N. New Braunfels Ave.

Nestled in the Alamo Heights neighborhood are two of the most vibrant restrooms we’ve ever seen. The ‘candy-themed’ commode is by far the quirkiest take on bathroom decor (Think: a sprinkle wall with superimposed rainbow lips). However, the adjacent USA-themed lavatory is definitely a close second. Come for the bathrooms, but stay for the “bagels on Southern soil.”

Best Quality Daughter | 602 Avenue A

One of the newest additions to Pearl’s food scene, this restaurant has won various awards for pioneering New Asian-American cuisine. But if it were up to us, we’d also honor it for having some of the best wallpapers in town. Snap a pic of the otter holding a fan or the sloth smoking from a hookah during your trip to the loo.

Mi Familia | 18403 IH-10 W.

If there are two things La Familia Cortez knows, it’s making great food + creating a beautiful, authentic atmosphere. But it doesn’t stop at the papel picado — the restrooms are adorned with Mexican artwork and even boast beautiful stained-glass pendant lanterns.

Hotel Valencia River Walk | 150 E. Houston St.

There’s nothing like finding a hidden gem in the heart of the city — only this one takes the form of a gorgeous, clean washroom. This is also your sign to check out Naranja Tequila and Mezcal Bar.

Buc-ee’s | 2760 I-35, New Braunfels

“Hold it until we get to Buc-ee’s” we’ve all been there. While this goes without saying, we’d like to say ‘thank you’ to all the employees that keep these restrooms so immaculately inviting. This might be the cleanest gas station toilets we will ever know, however…

If you know any other restrooms you think we should highlight, shoot us an email.

(Psst... check out our Reel featuring some of these wonderful water closets.)
