Howdy y’all — it’s Texas Independence Day and we are feeling the Lone Star love.

Earlier this week, we rounded up a list of the most Texan things you could possibly do (beer, barbecue, cowboys, etc.), but we thought we’d one-up that by giving you a soundtrack for your day.

Here are seven albums, EP’s + singles by San Antonian musicians to listen to:

Piñata Protest | El Valiente (2013)

Hailing from the Alamo City, this Tex-Mex and punk rock band is the epitome of SA’s cultural melting pot using lyrics in both Spanish and English.

Sleep Well. | Pictures of Dogs (2019)

Don’t let the band’s irreverent humor on social fool you, these indie musicians produce a seriously incredible sound — garnering 31,000+ listeners a month on Spotify.

Listen to: Pictures of Dogs (track)

Ada Vox | Because of You (feat. Bimbo Jones) (2018)
