San Antonio River Authority’s “Be Proud Kayaking Event Series”

When we think about the San Antonio River most might picture the River Walk or Mission Reach area. But, did you know that the San Antonio River is actually a 240-mile journey that leads all the way to the Gulf of Mexico? Canoe believe it? Well, the fun facts don’t stop there45 miles of the San Antonio river are accessible paddling trails for you to experience the river’s beauty and nature. Beginning this Thursday, the “Be Proud Kayaking Event Series” is back with paddle-worthy fun extending through next year for the entire family.

Here’s what you can expect this Thursday:

  • Museum Reach Holiday Nighttime Kayak Event | Thurs., Dec. 16 | 6-8 p.m. | Museum Reach | Take in the holiday sights as you paddle your way through the Museum Reach. Pro tip: You can reserve one of 35 kayaks with paddles provided by the River Authority for a $15 donation or bring your own free of charge.

Events in store for next year:

  • Feb. 26 + Mar. 19 - San Antonio River Basin Race Series
  • Apr. 2 - Mission Reach Fiesta Flotilla
  • Apr. 23 - Canoe Trail Goliad Spring Flotilla
  • June. 4 - Mission Reach Kayaking
  • Sept. 25 + Oct. 8 - San Antonio River Basin Race Series
