🚘 Who is My Plates?

  • My Plates is the official vendor for specialty license plates in the state of Texas.
  • Every year, it hosts two auctions where 50 specialty license plates are up for bid to anyone interested in a one-of-kind bumper message.

🚘 How does the Great Plate Auction Work?

  • If you’re interested in bidding, the auction takes place online only at www.myplates.com/auction.
  • Opening bids start at $500 and you’ll have until 8 p.m. on Wed., Nov. 17 to place yours.
  • Those who win the bids can hold on to the plate name for a five-year term — which is renewable + fully transferable.

🚘 What can I bid on?

  • “SMILE” currently holds the highest bid at $3,100 and counting.
  • “TEJANOS” is sitting pretty at $550.
  • “SPURZ” stands at $500.
  • “FAN” is priced at $750 and includes Dallas Cowboy flair for those die hard San Antonio Fans.
  • “HOME” is going for $1000 and is perfect for that one person who wants to show off their Texas pride.

🚘 What’s sold in the past?

  • “ALAMO” sold for a whopping $10,250 back in 2016.
  • The most expensive plate to sell at auction was “12TH MAN”, which sold for a cool $115,000 in 2013.
