With Día de los Muertos around the corner, San Antonio is about to be sprinkled with ofrendas — and marigolds. The traditional flower, used on altars, are said to lead souls to their family homes with their bright colors and aromatic scent.
Marigold maniac? You’re in luck. There’s a local festival just up the road in Blanco entirely dedicated to this flor de muertos. Visitors can enjoy an entire week of events including silk dyeing with marigolds, the Marigold Market, a fire show, and a family-friendly showing of Coco. The Texas Marigold Festival will run from Fri., Oct. 22-Sun., Oct 30.
