Hispanic Heritage Month is here, and the Pearl has a lineup of special performances and retail details to partake in the celebration. From its Viva Dieciséis event to public art displays, here’s a breakdown of what you can expect throughout the Pearl from Friday, Sept. 15 to Sunday, Oct. 15.

Viva Dieciséis | Saturday, Sept. 16 | 5-9 p.m. | Celebrate Mexican Independence Day with mariachi performances, loteria games, and a traditional grito by Consulado General of México.
Mercadito Cultural | Wednesdays on Sept. 20, 27, and Oct. 4 | 5-9 p.m. | Shop from local chefs, artisans, and vendors from Mexico in partnership with the San Antonio Mexican consulate.
Vamos a Bailar | Sundays on Sept. 24, Oct. 1, and Oct. 8 | 6-8:45 p.m. | Come for this free high-energy dance class by the Esta Noche Dance Company. The class is for all age levels and features a mix of bachata and salsa routines.

16 De Septiembre at Cured | Saturday, Sept. 16 | 7-9 p.m. | Enjoy a three-course dinner with a wine pairing by Chef Steve McHugh and Chef Sergio Remolina.
Intro to Wines of Mexico | Saturday, Sept. 23 | 11:30 a.m.-1:00 p.m. | Culinary Institue of America | Pinkies up winos, this class will take you through the history and regions of Mexican wine.
Ven a Tomar | Wednesday, Sept. 27 | 6-9:00 p.m. | Carriqui, 239 E. Grayson St. | Sip on sample mezcal, cocktails, and unique bites while learning from Mezcal expert Pedro Jiménez Gurría. Be sure to catch photographs from the UTSA Libraries’ Mexican Spirits Collection.
