Development
The H-E-B on Castroville near Our Lady on the Lake is slated for a $3.4 million remodel. According to a public filing, the project will encompass a full interior remodel and is anticipated to be completed in March 2024. 🚧
A new $2.5 million retail plaza is planned for 5222 UTSA Blvd. near Chicken N Pickle. The 25,173-sqft shopping center will break ground in April this year and wrap up construction a year from then. 🏗️

Here, everything is better — H-E-B celebrated the grand opening of its first store in Cibolo on the Northeast side this morning. An e-commerce facility for curbside pickup and home-delivery orders is also underway. (San Antonio Express-News) 🍎

The Carpenter Carpenter restaurant group — creators of Little Em’s Oyster Bar and Up Scale — will bring a new $1.6 million concept to the Jefferson Bank headquarters building. Nineteen Hyaku will feature sushi menu items in the near future. 🍣 (San Antonio Business Journal)

The San Antonio International Airport (SAT) is undergoing a multi-year terminal expansion to accommodate the 25,000 passengers that fly through daily. Recently the San Antonio International Airport shared an update on their new terminal plans coming in 2028.
The Strategic Development Program identified four areas that are to be included in construction of the terminal.
A new concourse with up to 17 gates and a new Federal Inspection Service/Customs area
Additional area for aircraft parking
Expansion of the roadway lanes in front of the terminals
A new Ground Transportation Center with additional public parking
Now comes the price tag. The estimated cost of the additional terminal is between $700 million and $1 billion. Funding sources will include:
Federal grants
Interim airport financing
Aviation capital funds
Passenger facility charges
That’s not all — Potential future improvements for Stinson Municipal Airport were unveiled during a recent open house event. Possible projects include lengthening of runways, new hangars, and a fixed base operations complex.
