Here’s your guide for SAT — plane and simple. | Photo by SATXtoday team
Traveling via plane is fun — jet-setting over beautiful blue waters or rolling hills, taking in cloud formations, and landing in a completely different location in a matter of hours is unlike anything else.

The whole navigating the airport part? Less exciting, and sometimes pretty stressful. To help make your time at San Antonio International Airport as smooth as possible, we’ve created a guide that covers everything from gates and parking, to details on the airport’s dozens of nonstop flights.

What to know

  • TSA | The SAT airport’s website recommends arriving ~90 minutes prior to your scheduled departure time for domestic travel and about two hours during peak travel time.
  • Map it out | If you’re like us and need to completely visualize a place before you step foot inside, this map of the entire airport will be your saving grace.
  • Food and drink | SAT really shines when it comes to its vast array of local food options. Case in point: Get some authentically-San Antonio tacos from La Gloria before washing it down with a cuppa joe from Merit Local Coffee.
  • Reminder | By May 3, 2023, all travelers over the age of 18 will need a REAL ID to board commercial flights in the US.
  • Flight status | While we recommend staying updated via your respective airline, you can also check the airport’s dashboard for your flight status in a pinch.

Soy Malintzin: a dance inspire by a “traitor”

Do you remember our story on the La Malinche exhibit at the San Antonio Museum of Art?

The temporary installation tells the story of an enslaved Indigenous girl turned historic icon through various mediums of art — except for dance.

No worries — The Guadalupe Cultural Arts Center has that area covered with a original production by the Guadalupe Dance Company titled “Soy Malintzin.”

The performance, accompanied by Mariachi Azteca de América, will be held at the historic Guadalupe Theater on Friday, Nov. 18 at 8 p.m.

“Identifying with her as a human being and a woman in unimaginable circumstances, we take artistic license as we retell her plight, her story, and the impact she had on our history through music, dance, and voice,” shared Jeannette Chavez, dance director of the Guadalupe Cultural Arts Center.

Tickets can be purchased online or by calling 210-271-3151.
