Did you know there are free family-friendly movie showings around Bexar County all year long? Here are a few locations to get your film fix this summer (and beyond).

Santikos

On hot summer days, head select Santikos theater locations. Tickets on a first come first serve basis. Discounted food and drink packs for the kiddos are $4.50. Next movie: “Despicable Me” on Tuesday, June 13 at 10 a.m.

Boerne Parks & Rec

Pack up the blankets, chairs, + snacks and head on out to Boerne’s Main Plaza for their free Movies in the Park series. Arrive at 7 p.m., the film starts at sundown. Next movie: “Space Jam 2" on Friday, June 30 at 7 p.m.

Tower of the Americas

Come watch a free monthly flick under the stars. Bring chairs, blankets, and cash for food + drinks. Showings start at sundown. Next movie: “Bad Guys” on Saturday, July 8.

H-E-B Cinema on Will’s Plaza

Bring your chairs and blankets to the Tobin Center for free movie nights on the second Friday of most months. Concessions are available for purchase. Next movie: “In The Heights” on Friday, July 14.

The Rim

Enjoy free movies in the park on Wednesday nights this summer starting at sunset. This year’s theme is throwback movies. Next movie: Monsters University on Wednesday, June 21.

Mission Marque

Join the City of San Antonio World Heritage Office at its free annual Outdoor Family Film Series. Food trucks will be on site along with live entertainment. Movies starts at 7 p.m. and pets are welcomed. Next movie: “School of Rock” Thursday, June 15.

Slab Movies Outdoor Movies

This outdoor movies series has free showings all around the Alamo City. You even have the option to host your own private outdoor movie event. Next movie: “Space Jam (1996)” at Travis Park.
