What’s hopping? Just north of downtown, Roadmap Brewing Co. is gearing up for the first-ever Detour Fest this Saturday, July 26, 12-5 p.m. The rollicking mini-beer fest will celebrate more than a dozen partner breweries coming together from all over the country.
It’s a natural extension of Roadmap’s ongoing Detour Series, working behind the scenes to create collaborative brews with local breweries like Cibolo Creek Brewing and Freetail Brewing, plus statewide and national partners.
Don’t miss the chance to celebrate with other Lone Star State partners like Austin’s Hold Out Brewing, Midland’s Tall City, and Houston’s Equal Parts. And the party has gone national: Pittsburgh’s Dancing Gnome, Denver’s Strange Craft Beer, and St. Louis’s Modern Brewery will be there, too.
Admission is $35, and tickets can be pre-purchased online. Tickets include six 4-ounce pours and taproom access from 12 to 5 p.m. — not to mention a Detour Fest commemorative beer glass. Extra beer tokens are available for purchase at the venue — our personal favorite is the Craven Cottage English pub ale.
Okay, but where do I park? Event parking is available across the street from the venue, as is limited street parking and local paid parking.
One thing’s for sure: It’s an event you won’t want to miss. (But in case you have to, don’t worry — tickets are transferable.)
Meet like-minded beer connoisseurs at Roadmap Brewing seven days a week — the company recently teamed up with Back Unturned Brewing and Kunstler Brewing to donate food, water, and supplies to the Kerrville Salvation Army for flood relief. It boasts a weekly run club, cycle club, donation-based yoga, and trivia night.
While Roadmap Brewing is a kid- and pet-friendly venue, this 21+ event is the one day of the year they ask attendees to leave children — even the four-legged ones — at home.
