Bring the tote bag because... The City of San Antonio Office of Sustainability is partnering with the non-profit, Gardopia Gardens and the Historic Pearl to celebrate Sustainability Day. The Fruit Tree Adoption & Sustainability Day event will take place at the Historic Pearl farmer’s market on Saturday, August 12 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. If you were looking to add some green to your garden, this is the perfect time.

Here’s what to know before you go:

  • Tree adoption runs from 11 a.m.-1 p.m.
  • 100 fruit trees are available at a first come first serve basis
  • Free environmental education class available
  • Learn gardening tips + tricks

Pro tip: Make sure to get there early to secure your tree. Afterwards, stay for some shopping from local farmers and browse the endless eats + treats. City Editor Nicholas highly recommends the rice pudding from Rice Rise that can be found near the Food Hall.
