We are major dog lovers here at SATXtoday — City Editor Rossi has three and Ivan has two furry friends — so we were inspired to put a list together with five of our favorite spots you can take your pooch to play and guarantee a howling good time.
Maverick Park | 1000 Broadway | 5 a.m.-11 p.m.
Completed last year, this park is in the heart of the Alamo City and includes a pet drinking fountain, mutt mitt dispensers + downtown views. Pro tip: Before the adventure, surprise your best bud with treats and other goodies from SouthPaw Waggeryless than a five-minute drive away.

Phil Hardberger Park | E. 13203 Blanco Rd. + W. 8400 N.W. Military Hwy. | Sunrise-Sunset
This park has two locations that boast separate large + small dog areas, fun obstacle courses, and play shelters your pet will love. Pro Tip: For $5 a month you can sign up for the “Paws for the Park” membership and receive fur-bulous goodies while supporting the conservancy.

Denman Estate Park | 7735 Mockingbird Ln. | Sunrise-Sunset
While not your typical park with a gated area for your pet to play, this Northwest side gem is a great walking adventure for you and your pup. Pro Tip: Stop by and marvel at the beautiful Korean monument, hand-crafted by artisans from our sister city Gwangju, Korea.

Pearsall Park | 5102 Old Pearsall Rd. | 6 a.m.-11 p.m.
Located on the Southwest side of town, Pearsall Park has a 1.5 acre combined large + small dog area that includes play features for paw-some playdates. Pro tip: Bring the entire family to enjoy the Family Fun Zone or break a sweat at the Fitness Challenge Zone.

Tom Slick Park | 7400 Highway 151 | 5 a.m.-11 p.m.
This one-acre park features separate large and small fenced-in dog areas and amenities like a special doggie shower for those hot summer days.
