Oh, were you thinking now that Drink Up Month is almost over, we’d stop celebrating local businesses? Nope.
This Sunday, July 30 marks the first day of Black Business Week SA , which runs through Sunday, August 6. The conference provides classes, workshops, panels, features and more for local Black-owned businesses + entrepreneurs.
It’ll be held at the Holiday Inn SeaWorld, and there are plenty of ways to get involved . Here’s a breakdown of the week:
Monday, July 31
Business Classes | 10 a.m.-5 p.m. | $10+ | Listen to community leaders + their expertise through classes about How to Start a Business, Marketing & Public Relations and Business Insurance + Taxes.
Ribbon Cutting and Welcome Mixer | 7-9 p.m. | $35 | Join Bexar County representatives as they kick off Black Business Month with live music, hors d’oeuvres, a cash bar, and vendors.
Tuesday, Aug. 1
Business Classes | 10 a.m.-5 p.m. | $10+ | Choose from a variety of classes including Getting Contracts, Networking 101, Business Legal & Contracts 101, and more.
Wednesday, Aug. 2
Health and Wellness Day | 9 a.m.-7 p.m.| $25 | Spend the morning in fitness + workout classes, watch food demos, listen to health and wellness panels, and shop various vendors.
Thursday, Aug. 3
Supplier Diversity Day | 10 a.m.-5 p.m. | $25 | Learn about procurement and listen to panels about supplier diversity.
Friday, Aug. 4
Networking Brunch | 9-11 a.m. | $35 | Eat and mingle will fellow participants and learn how to master your pitch and how to lead a conversation.
Round Table Discussions | 1-5 p.m. | $10 | Learn about business politics, conflict resolution, and finance solutions.
Cocktails & Keynote | 7-10 p.m. | $50 | Come listen to Michelle Rouche + KC Townes and enjoy cocktails, vendors, and hors d’oeuvres.
Saturday, Aug. 5
Workshops | 12-4 p.m. | $100 | Bring your laptop and attend one of seven workshops.
