A new totally tubular spot has made its way onto the downtown scene where it’s 80s, 90s, and Y2K vibes all night. We’re talking about stepping back into a time when TVs were as bulky as fridges and JNCO jeans ruled the streets.

Be Kind & Rewind, an arcade + retro-themed bar, will officially open its doors to the public tonight at 115 Alamo Plz. — once occupied by the former downtown Fuddruckers.

Our team was able to get a sneak peek to bring you all the deets + a few pro tips along the way.

🍸 Cowabunga cocktails

Encased in a VCR, you’ll find Be Kind & Rewind’s robust list of themed drinks + classic sips. Grab a signature drink from the bar like Weird Science (presented in a bubbling beaker) or Disco Punch (sip from a disco ball).

🍕 Baller bites

Expect an array of dishes from the kitchen with more offerings than your typical bar. You can’t go wrong with classics like truffle fries and pizza (so you can pretend you’re a Ninja Turtle).

⚡ Bust out the Polaroid

This bar is one for the ‘gram, featuring incredible artwork by local muralist Colton Valentine and other immersive photo ops at every corner. Don’t forget to snap a pic at one of the most unique spots the bar has to offer: the giant claw machine.

💿 All the jams

Of course, we’d be remiss not to mention that the bar will host weekly themed nights with all the greatest hits. In fact, there’s something for everyone — including fans of Spanish throwbacks. Juanes, anyone?

When asked to share who is invited to this soon-to-be downtown nightlife staple, Co-owner Alex Amaro shared, “Everyone. All genders, all races. Just come in... Leave your drama at the door. Leave your worries at the door. Have a good time, and just enjoy the good vibes. That’s what we’re here to do.”

You can follow Be Kind & Rewind on Instagram for updates on special events, including Halloween weekend happenings.
